Knitting : Mug Cozy

Here's a new knitting project that will show you how to knit a mug cozy using moss stitch ! It's a great way to decorate a table or a coffee station. It will protect your hands and keep your drink warm. This cozy is very easy-to-do as you only have to knit two rectangles with knit stitches and purl stitches. I used a big yarn and needles #10 so it took me less than an hour to knit the mug cozy.

Supplies

Pelote Rico Design Essentials Super Super Chunky 002
  • 1 yarn from Rico Design called "Essentials Super" Super Chunky 002
  • Needles #10
  • 1 sewing needle

Making

1st rectangle :

Cast on 21 stitches, needles #10 and knit 9 rows, moss stitch (around 2,36 inches).

Bind off the stitches.

2nd rectangle :

Cast on 7 stitches, needles #10 and knit 2 rows, moss stitch (around 0,39 inch).

Bind off the stitches.

Put the cozy on your mug, make both ends meet and sew the upper side of the cozy above the handle.

Sew the small rectangle on the bottom ends of the cozy below the handle. Your cozy is ready now !

I hope you enjoyed that project ! If you made a personnalized cozy for your mug too, feel free to send me your pictures on social medias ! ;-)

See you soon,

Clara
