Customized notebook

I have a passion for note books and I even started a little collection. My favorite note books are the ones with vintage and shabby-chic covers that you often find at Maisons du Monde in France and in specialized stationery stores. I like Pip Studio note books, it really seems like their covers are handmade and they have beautiful gildings, flowers and butterflies. Their pages are also decorated with cute little birds, shabby-chic cages and vintage lines.

If you also like writing, note books and stationery supplies, I'm sure you will enjoy personalizing a note book with your favorite papers and add small embellishments to decorate it.

Here's a DIY for you, it's very easy-to-do and great to let you imagination speak. Within an hour you'll get a unique note book that you can bring everywhere.

The crafts stores are full of vintage supplies these days and there are wonderful products to use for that kind of project. I loved the  "Peaceful" paper collection from "Authentique" (US brand). For that project I used to sheets from this collection and they are called "Freeze" and "Solitude".

Supplies

  • 1 notebook (I used a Moleskine plain paper cahier journal with a kraft cover)
  • several scrapbooking sheets
  • 1 pencil
  • 1 rule
  • 1 pair of scissors
  • 1 glue stick
  • Cleopatra Cleocol
  • masking tape
  • scrapbooking  embellishments (I used vintage adhesive foam mustaches)

First, cut several pieces of paper in the scrapbooking sheets, you will use them for the note book cover. Mix the styles for a better vintage effect (especially with that kind of paper). Keep special pieces such as vintage labels and quotes to use them as ornaments.

Glue all the elements of your new cover with the glue stick and Cleocol (especially on the edges to strengthen the grip).

To strengthen the cover, apply some masking tape along the binding section (above pictures).

Then, glue the embellishments on the cover with the Cleocol.

I hope you enjoyed this DIY ! Don't hesitate to write comments below !

See you soon,

Clara.
